Internships

Our on-farm internships give agriculture students the opportunity to work directly with our cows and community. These unique experiences allow students to gain meaningful experiences for their future careers in agriculture.

Dairy Learning Center

Marketing & Communications Focus

Student’s Responsibilities: An intern's main responsibility is to guide visitors through the facilities while communicating valuable information about MVP Dairy and the greater agricultural community. This includes maintaining the Learning Center facilities. Interns will also help plan and assist with hosting school field trips and other special events. They'll learn to communicate and facilitate public/people handling issues and how to present a positive impression of the dairy community. Interns also have the opportunity for diverse experiences based on their interests, including assisting with social media content, graphic design, virtual farm tours, event planning, and facilitating day to day Learning Center operations.

Duration of internship will coincide with students' academic calendars by semester.

Farm Management

Dairy Science Focus

Student’s Responsibilities: An intern's main responsibility is to work alongside our farm and herd managers. This includes hands-on experiences in different areas of the farm. Interns will assist in protocol management, completing routine herd care tasks, and support the farm management team as needed. Interns will have the opportunity to create a diverse experience based on skills and interests.

Duration of internship will coincide with students' academic calendars by semester.

Dairy Comp 305

Internship is open to students studying Dairy or Animal Science or a related field. Preference will be given to students with sophomore standing or higher in a relevant undergraduate program.

SCHOLARSHIPS

With the help of our generous sponsors we are able to provide 2 scholarships for Wright State Lake Campus students pursuing agriculture.

Awards: 2 scholarships for $1,500

Award Criteria

Lake Campus Undergraduate Students: DFHS & NCRT
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Rank in the upper 25% of their graduating class
Residency in Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, Shelby, Van Wert, Allen or Putnam Counties
Enrolled full-time each semester (12+ credit hours) in Lake Campus courses
Agriculture Major
Students planning a career related to the Dairy Industry (production, agriculture, manufacturing, marketing, ag law, business, communications, veterinary medicine, research, and environmental sciences) who have demonstrated leadership skills and academic ability.
